Boeing IDS
To keep bombers, tankers and other warfighters battle-ready, defense-sector organizations
increasingly rely on outside contractors to manage weapons and fleet parts supply
chains. Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) is one such contractor that implemented
MCA's Service Planning and Optimization (SPO™) software suite for increased
efficiency and value.
Boeing IDS uses SPO to support its F/A-18 E/F Integrated Readiness Support Teaming
(FIRST) program with the U.S. Navy. The implementation – which was completed
on time and on budget – allows Boeing planners to forecast and position service
parts in the Navy delivery network, as well as determine optimal order quantities
for internal replenishment, repair orders, and new-buy orders.
