Dr. Morris Cohen is well aware of the problems large manufacturing concerns face,
particularly when it comes to servicing what they produce. Cohen, a world authority
on service value chain optimization and strategy, has worked with companies like
IBM, Cisco, Applied Materials, Intel, General Motors, Saturn, Teradyne and the U.S.
Navy to improve their service parts and optimization systems.
As the Panasonic professor of manufacturing and logistics at the Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania, and co-director of Wharton's Fishman-Davidson Center
for Operations Management, Cohen has spent years researching, planning and designing
advanced value chain systems. In 1999, Cohen, together with Dr. Vipul Agrawal, who
studied under Cohen at Wharton, founded MCA Solutions to bring the intellectual
capital of service value chain optimization from the classroom into the technology
marketplace.
Prior to co-founding MCA Solutions, Cohen led the team that designed IBM's decision
support system, OPTIMIZER, which resulted in $250 million in inventory savings,
a 10 percent reduction in annual operating costs and dramatic improvements in customer
service.
Cohen, who holds a bachelor of science degree in Engineering Sciences from the University
of Toronto, and a master's degree in industrial engineering and doctorate in operations
research from Northwestern University, has published extensively on the theory and
practice of optimized service value chain design, planning and management.
Bob Salvucci joined MCA Solutions in September 2002, and has guided the company’s
continued ascent, leveraging his 30 years of success at IBM and SAP America during
their periods of high growth. His broad experience with these two tech giants provides
MCA with the management expertise necessary to drive its sales, marketing, and product
innovation teams while, most importantly, assuring the success of MCA's customers.
Key to SAP America's growth, Salvucci joined SAP in 1993 as an Alliance director,
responsible for developing strategic partnerships with Microsoft and IBM, as well
as with consulting firms ICS Deloitte and Andersen Consulting. His success in these
areas fueled SAP's growth in the 90s. Salvucci subsequently held a variety of sales
management roles with responsibility for more than 50 percent of SAP America's total
revenue. In 1997, Salvucci became president of SAP Public Services, a start-up subsidiary.
During his three-year tenure in this position, he grew the public-sector business
from $20 million to $200 million in sales – and the organization from 6 people
to 250 – while managing all aspects of the business, from marketing and consulting
to human resources and product and business development. In his final role at SAP,
Salvucci served as senior vice president of operations where he was responsible
for all administration, real estate and facilities in North America, including the
company's $50 million capital budget.
Salvucci began his career at IBM where he held myriad positions with increasing
sales, marketing and management responsibilities in the U.S. and Europe. He holds
a bachelor's degree in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
Salvucci is active in many Philadelphia-area civic and business organizations.
Hedy Cohen received her MBA in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School, University
of Pennsylvania. She has held various treasury management positions at Sun Refining
and Marketing Company, was an investment advisor at Prudent Management Associates,
and served as a consultant to CMS Companies Capital Management Group. Prior to joining
MCA Solutions, Ms. Cohen was the CFO of Cohen and Lee Associates, a supply chain
consulting company.
Prior to co-founding MCA Solutions, Dr. Vipul Agrawal was an assistant professor
in the Operations Management Department at the Stern School of Business, New York
University and a visiting Professor at Oxford University. He has conducted research
for more than 12 years in the areas of service parts optimization systems and dynamic
pricing. Dr. Agrawal has also been a consultant to several Fortune 500 companies,
including Accenture, Applied Materials, Cisco, IBM, and Saturn. He received an MS
in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and a PhD in Operations Management
from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Chad Ross has over 10 years experience developing distributed computing solutions
for organizations such as the OECD, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, DARPA's
Advanced Logistics Program, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania,
Rosenbluth International, Flycast Communications, Novacruz Products, Practical Reasoning,
TheSquare.com and Care Management Sciences. Mr. Ross was a principal in Versatile
Design and a senior systems programmer at the Wharton School from 1995 through 1998.
He has a BSE in Computer Science and Engineering and a BA in Mathematics from the
University of Pennsylvania.
Bob Bryant is a seasoned software and professional services executive with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Bryant leads the management of functional and technical consulting, customer support, strategic consulting, education and pre-sales. He is responsible for maintaining MCA's record of successful on-time delivery and complete customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining MCA Solutions, Mr. Bryant was Director of Supplier Relationship Management, as well as Director of Logistics and Transportation consulting services for i2 Technologies. Before joining i2, he was a product manager for MARCAM Solution's Protean ERP product. Mr. Bryant spent 14 years at Raytheon, a major Aerospace & Defense company. As a Program Manager, he captured and managed more than $50M in technology contracts.
Mr. Bryant has a BS degree in Industrial Management from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, and has published numerous articles on production and information systems.
Tim Andreae brings over 15 years of experience in software implementation and supply
chain management to MCA Solutions. He is responsible for marketing, alliances, business
development, and public relations. Prior to MCA, Mr. Andreae served as vice president
of strategic services at ProfitLogic, where he developed a value-based selling and
results measurement process that contributed to ProfitLogic's recognition as the
leader in merchandise optimization. At Syncra, he built and managed the implementation,
training, support, and hosting organization during a ten-fold increase in the company's
revenues. Mr. Andreae held a variety of positions at i2 Technologies and, as Director
of SOA (Supply Chain Opportunity Assessment), he built the team and methodology
that became the cornerstone of i2's value-based selling methodology during its growth
from a $12 million to a $500 million company.
Mr. Andreae earned an MBA in Decision Sciences from the Wharton School, University
of Pennsylvania, a BSME from Columbia University, and a BS in Physics from the University
of the South. He is certified by APICS in Production and Inventory Management.
Jack Barr brings more than 20 years of high-tech sales, marketing, operations and business development experience to MCA Solutions. He spent more than 12 years working at SAP America where he helped launch SAP’s strategic client-server solution and was instrumental in SAP’s growth in the 90’s, exceeding personal sales targets by more than 220 percent annually over a seven year period.
As SVP of strategic accounts at MCA, Mr. Barr will lead the development of our global sales strategy with a strong focus on continuous improvement of all sales processes and operations. He will also work closely with our strategic partners to identify and pursue new joint business development opportunities, and will support MCA’s strategic consulting engagements and marketing efforts.
Before joining MCA, Mr. Barr ran his own management consulting firm focused around excellence in sales execution. Prior to his consulting firm, Barr worked at SAP America, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Sales Operations. At SAP, Mr. Barr developed and implemented new operational techniques for the entire sales lifecycle. Mr. Barr began his career at Cullinet Software and also helped launch a dot-com company that specialized in supply chain optimization called Atlas Commerce. He was also a Principal with The Complex Sale Inc., a sales transformation company, where he provided sales management consulting and coaching to their clients to help them achieve sales superiority. A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Barr attended Temple University and is now a resident of Malvern, Pa.
Carl Fransman has over 15 years of international management experience in high technology
industries. Mr. Fransman comes to MCA from Real Software, a €200 million provider
of software and services where he managed business development and alliances. While
there, he built key account relationships and partnerships, and spearheaded the
company's push into the government space. At Fileflow, Mr. Fransman served as technical
manager, helping to establish a European head office and signing several OEM deals
as part of the company's new business strategy. His previous experience includes
management roles in the manufacturing sector.
Mr. Fransman is based in Belgium and joined MCA in 2004 to lead its international
expansion in the EMEA region. He is fluent in Dutch, French, English and conversant
in German, and has an industrial engineering degree and an MBA with high honors
from Solvay Business School in Brussels.
Vraj Mohan has over 20 years of experience in software engineering, including both
software product and custom application development. He is currently responsible
for software engineering and the quality of MCA's product delivery. Prior to MCA
Solutions, Mr. Mohan served as vice president of engineering at Evant, where he
led the development of a retail merchandise planning product targeting the web channel.
He has also been a consultant to several Fortune 500 companies, including Hewlett-Packard,
McKesson, and Sun Microsystems. Mr. Mohan has a bachelor's degree in electrical
engineering from REC, Warangal, India and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, India.
Sanjay Jagdale is responsible for defining and implementing industry and solution
strategies within the MCA customer base. Jagdale has over 14 years of experience
in the field of supply chain management, especially in the Aerospace & Defense
and High-Tech industries. He has led, as well as actively participated in, a number
of supply chain management initiatives at large multinational companies, including
very successful implementations for the largest global defense and high tech manufacturing
companies and the US military. He is a seasoned consulting professional with national
and international experience, combining consulting practice management, global program
management, and strategic leadership.
Prior to joining MCA, Jagdale was Director of Consulting at i2 Technologies. He
received a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT and an MS and PhD in Operations
Research and Manufacturing Systems from Cornell University.
John Nunes is responsible for MCA Solutions' Strategic Consulting business, leveraging
the knowledge and expertise of MCA and power of SPO™to help clients develop
and implement aftermarket and service supply chain strategies. Prior to joining
MCA Solutions, Nunes worked for KLA-Tencor where he held senior management positions
in Service Operations and Marketing. At KLA-Tencor, John led the implementation
of MCA Solutions’ SPO as part of a service supply chain redesign initiative.
John also spent 6 years at Applied Materials in a variety of management positions
including regional general manager for applied materials, South-East Asia.
John has more than 20 years experience in high-tech global operations and supply
chain management. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Operations
Research, both from Columbia University in New York City.
